DVD1: Buena Vista Social club
Mars 1996, la firme de disques World Circuit, basée à Londres, a organisé un voyage à La Havane pour faire des enregistrements. Il n'a fallu guère plus de 15 jours pour enregistrer 3 albums, dont 3the Buena Vista Social club".
A l'origine l'idée du projet était de rassembler des guitaristes africains et des guitaristes cubains. Nick Gold de World Circuit avait invité Ry Cooder avec qui il avait déjà travaillé sur Talking Timbuku. Cooder donna réponse positive.
Les Africains n'ont pu se rendre à la La Havane mais le projet fut maintenu.
DVD2: The Story of Jazz
The Story of Jazz replace des artistes incontournables tels que John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis et Billy Holiday dans leur propre contexte historique.
